Gemeinde Thurn

Thurn is a municipality in East Tyrol (district of Lienz, province of Tyrol) and is located on the slightly rising valley floor of the district capital Lienz, about 2 km from its city center with a view of the mountains of the Lienz Dolomites.

Tourism
Tourism is of great importance for the community of Thurn, especially during the winter season. There is only one hotel in Thurn, but in addition there are numerous private rentals. The most important tourist attraction is the winter sports area Zettersfeld. The community markets itself together with the neighboring communities of Gaimberg and Oberlienz under the brand "Sonnendörfer" (sunny villages), whereby the community, like all East Tyrolean communities, belongs to the East Tyrol Tourism Association. Thurn is organized in the "Holiday Region Lienz Dolomites".
