Frankenau-Unterpullendorf (Croatian Frakanava-Dolnja Pulja, Hungarian Frankó-Alsópulya, Romani Telutni Pulja) is a municipality in the district of Oberpullendorf,
Burgenland, Austria with 1090 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023), of whom approx. 80% belong to the Burgenland-Croatian ethnic group.
The municipality is located in central Burgenland on the Stooberbach stream. The geographical center of Burgenland is also located in Unterpullendorf.
Before the birth of Christ, the area was part of the Celtic kingdom of Noricum and belonged to the area surrounding the Celtic hilltop settlement of Burg on the Schwarzenbacher
castle hill. Later, under the Romans, the present-day villages of Frankenau and Unterpullendorf were part of the province of Pannonia. The formerly independent villages belonged to
like the whole of Burgenland, belonged to Hungary (German West Hungary) until 1920/21.
