Villach
Villach (Slovenian Beljak, Italian Villaco, Furlanian Vilac) is the seventh largest city in Austria and the second largest city in the province of Carinthia after Klagenfurt am Wörthersee. It represents an important traffic junction for the south of Austria as well as for the Alps-Adriatic region. With its 64,071 inhabitants, the statutory city is the largest city in Austria that is not simultaneously the capital of a federal state. The urban area is located on the western edge of the Klagenfurt basin at the confluence of the Drava and Gail rivers. The municipal area of Villach borders or surrounds several lakes, including Lake Ossiach, Lake Faak, Lake Silbersee, Lake Vassach, Lake Grünsee, Lake Magdalensee and Lake Leonhard.
