Vichtenstein is a municipality in Upper Austria in the district of Schärding in the Innviertel region. The municipality is located in the judicial district of Schärding.

Culture and sights

    Vichtenstein Castle: built around 1100, continuously inhabited and managed since then. Visits only possible from the outside.
    Parish church Vichtenstein: neo-Gothic; two-nave hall with octagonal pillars
    Filial church in the district of Kasten: built about 800 years ago (around 1200), dedicated to St. Jacob; early Gothic at its core, later Baroqueized. A building with flat barrel vaulted nave and neo-Baroque furnishings. Worth seeing is a crucifixion relief made of red marble from 1548.
