Aigen-Schlägl is a market town in the northwestern Mühlviertel region of Upper Austria. The municipality was created on 1 May 2015 by the merger of the formerly independent municipalities of Aigen im Mühlkreis and Schlägl. Aigen-Schlägl is located at 596 m above sea level in the upper Mühlviertel. In terms of nature conservation, the northern area of the municipality belongs to the spatial unit Bohemian Forest and the southern area to the spatial unit Southern Bohemian Forest foothills.
Culture and sights
    Parish Church Aigen im Mühlkreis: The parish church of St. John the Apostle and Evangelist, which is incorporated into the Schlägl Abbey, was built from 1897 to 1901 according to plans by the Linz architect Raimund Jeblinger.
