The market town of Sankt Martin is located in the northwest of the Waldviertel, directly on the Bohemian border. Embedded in the still natural, beautiful Lainsitz valley, it stretches from the foot of the Nebelstein to the Kögelberg. Lying in the middle, like a wooded castle, the Wachtberg mountain guards the region and its inhabitants all around.
Our landscape is predominantly cultivated organically. In order to maintain the ecological circular economy, an organic dairy and a meat processing plant have been built, where our farmers market their organic products. This makes us the first organic dairy village in Austria.
Together with the two spa communities of Bad Großpertholz and Moorbad Harbach, Sankt Martin forms a "healthy triangle" in the northwestern part of the Upper Waldviertel. Here at the foot of the Nebelstein (1017 m), in the Lainsitz valley, which is worth preserving as a nature reserve, you will find the peace and relaxation that mature vacationers are looking for. In the Waldvierler Oberland, at an altitude of 630 to 800 meters above sea level, one breathes in freedom and life along with the purest air.
