Reutte is a market town and a village in the Tyrolean Außerfern and the seat of the district administration Reutte responsible for the entire Außerfern as well as the district court Reutte. Along with Tamsweg, Reutte is one of only two municipalities in Austria with a district authority that has not been elevated to the status of a city.

Culture and sights

    Houses in the center: in the center there are houses worth seeing with facade paintings by the Reutten painter Johann Jakob Zeiller. The facades of the houses in Reutten's Obermarkt district do not form a uniform front, but stand individually at an angle to the street, which is a regional peculiarity.

    Alpentherme Reutte: The swimming pool, newly built in 2011, offers "relaxation, action and fun", with a large sauna landscape and a view of the Ehrenberg ruin.
