Maria Neustift is a municipality in the district of Steyr-Land in Upper Austria. Maria Neustift is located in the Traunviertel, directly on the Lower Austrian border, between the Upper Austrian Enns Valley and Ybbstal.

Culture and sights

    Catholic Parish Church Maria Neustift Maria, Salvation of the Sick: Originally an ossified, late Gothic church from the end of the 15th century. After severe storm damage, it was decided to rebuild the church in 1886. Starting in 1891, a new nave with choir room in neo-Gothic style was built in a north-south direction according to the plans of the architect Raimund Jeblinger and solemnly consecrated on September 29, 1898 by diocesan bishop Franz Maria Doppelbauer. The choir room from the previous church was preserved and integrated as an eastern side chapel. The mighty tower also originates from the predecessor church and received a new steeple in 1931.
