The market town of Krummnußbaum is located south of the Danube and consists of various areas with a cultural landscape structure: from the Danube plain, which is used for agricultural purposes, with the main town of the municipality, to the wooded slope of the Sittenberg and the field landscape around Holzern.
On an area of just over 10 km² Krummnußbaum comprises two cadastral communities: Krummnußbaum and Diedersdorf.
Krummnußbaum consists of 6 sub-villages: Annastift, Diedersdorf, Holzern, Krummnußbaum, Neustift and Wallenbach.
In total Krummnußbaum contains about 1500 inhabitants, with the largest part of the population in Krummnußbaum itself.
In the market town there are 20 agricultural enterprises and about 40 commercial and service enterprises.
