Our vacation home Kaspardörfl is located in an idyllic top location on the outskirts of Radstadt in the direction of Obertauern, in Salzburg's Taurach Valley. The Radstadt ski area in the Ski amadé ski network as well as the Obertauern ski area can be reached shortly by car or by the free ski bus. The ski bus stop is in the immediate vicinity. Radstadt is a municipality in the Austrian state of Salzburg.
It is also called the "old town in the mountains" and is known as a winter sports resort.

Culture and sights

The Paul Hofhaimer Days have been held in Radstadt since 1987, with a concert program at the end of May/beginning of June each year.

Radstadt town fortifications: Medieval town fortified in the 13th century (from 1231), although several devastating fires destroyed much of the original building fabric centuries ago; the present townscape is characterized by modern-bourgeois baroque and classicism. Parts of the early modern city wall with the Witches' Tower, the Pond Tower and the Capuchin Tower are still preserved. In front of the pond tower you can still find a part of the town moat.

Radstadt Parish Church: three-nave basilica in the Romanesque-Regency style, rebuilt several times. In 1314 the first church was built in Radstadt. It was repeatedly devastated by town fires, the last time in 1865. The town parish church also houses the Paul Hofhaymer memorial organ.

Evangelical Church of Reconciliation: architectural ensemble built between 1994 and 1996.

Schusterturm: late gothic light column from 1513 in the cemetery of the town parish church

Capuchin church and crypt: baroque high altar; the Capuchin tower is used as part of the local history museum Lerchen Castle.

Lerchen Castle: first mentioned in a document in 1298, renovated in 1779; now houses the local history museum

Tandalier Castle: developed from a farmhouse that can be traced back to the 15th century and was converted into an unfortified Renaissance castle in 1569

Radstadt Castle: formerly a Capuchin monastery, today a parish courtyard

Mauer Castle: enclosed estate fortified with a wall with towers, privately owned

Fortification Mandlingpass: fortification in Mandling on the Ennstal road
