Vacation in Forstau

You will find it with us, because our house is located in the center of Forstau. Our beautiful landscape invites you to do nothing and dream.

Are you looking for nature?
House is located in the middle of great hiking trails. In summer you can enjoy the variety of plants and the wonderful view of our mountains. 

Forstau in winter

You want to go skiing?
In winter you will experience the deep snow-covered landscape, the hoarfrost on the trees and breathe in clear fresh winter air.
Our house is only 400 m away from the ski lift and the ski school. The nearest ski rental and sports store are about 50m away.

In our house there is also a ski cellar with heated boot dryer. For your safety the ski cellar is locked. In summer, bicycles or other larger items can also be stored here overnight.

Whether summer or winter

You don't want to leave by car in the evening? 
Directly across from Haus Mitterwallner is the "Forstauerwirt", where you can meet for lunch or dinner. Just behind is a small umbrella bar the "GKW's", a cozy meeting place for young and old.

Do you have children who don't want to be bored? 
We have a large garden to let off steam. Opposite is a public children's playground. 

Ski area Fageralm

The family-friendly ski resort Fageralm Forstau offers not only child-friendly slopes and ski routes, but also an exciting children's land: the Viking slope, the Indian trail or the Goliath giant swing are just a few of the many attractions, along with a Speedy track and the wave run. Forstau is also located in the middle of Austria's largest ski association: Ski Amadé, which guarantees pure and boundless skiing pleasure with a total of 760 kilometers of slopes and 270 lifts.

On the Fageralm (1,885 m), the cozy ski area with natural snow and extensive slopes, the many small ski huts invite you to stop and have fun. At the Resch ski school, even the youngest learn about fun on the slopes. Flachau, Zauchensee, Obertauern, the Reiteralm, Hochwurzen, Planai and Hauser Kaibling are also within easy reach of 28 km.

Off the slopes

You can also enjoy snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and our full moon ski tours. A hike on our 20 km of cleared winter hiking trails, especially the illuminated Bachweg, are recommended. In case of bad weather you can visit the Schladming adventure pool or the Sole Therme Amadé.
