Sankt Barbara im Mürztal is a market town with 6518 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the judicial district of Mürzzuschlag and in the political district of 
Bruck-Mürzzuschlag in the province of Styria. As part of the municipal reform in Styria. The municipality, which was newly founded on 1 January 2015 
from the merger of three municipalities that were independent until the end of 2014: Mitterdorf im Mürztal, Veitsch, Wartberg im Mürztal.
