Forchtenstein (Hungarian Fraknó, Fraknóváralja; Croatian Fortnava) is a municipality with 2777 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2023) in the district of Mattersburg in the 
Burgenland in Austria. The village is best known for Forchtenstein Castle, which is situated on a slope above the Wulka Valley and can be seen from afar.
