Culture and sights

Catholic Parish Church Grinzens St. Anton

Despite its proximity to the Axamer Lizum, Grinzens is little developed in terms of tourism - but in return has been able to preserve its originality. A regionally popular destination is the approx. 7 km long toboggan run into the Senderstal valley to the Kemater Alm, which is located on Grinzen's municipal territory. Furthermore, there is a small nature reserve called Froschteich. In a piece of forest to the west in Grinzens lies the Mooskapelle, which is known from regional legends.

Grinzens gained supraregional cultural importance with open-air performances of the local theater association "Sendersbühne":

"Passion Grinzens" - Passion plays in the summer of 2006.
"TirolerFreiheit" - a new view of the Tyrolean uprising of 1809 in summer 2007
"A Midsummer Night's Dream"[14] - performance based on the work of the same name by William Shakespeare in the summer of 2016

In terms of carnival customs, the Wampelerreiten is well known.
