Culture and sights

Friedberg Castle was founded around 1230 by the Counts of Andechs and is located on an elevation above the Inn Valley floor.
Aschach Castle was built in 1586 in the form still preserved today and is located on a hill near the village center.
The parish church of St. John the Baptist was first mentioned in 1253, rebuilt in Gothic style from 1437 to 1512, and extended to the west from 1962 to 1965 according to plans by architect Clemens Holzmeister.
St. Charles Church was donated and planned by Hippolyt Guarinoni in 1620 and consecrated in 1654. The first baroque central building in northern Tyrol has a peculiar exotic charm.

The Partisan Association of Volders, an association first mentioned in 1854 that accompanies the Blessed Sacrament in processions, was recognized along with others by UNESCO in 2013 as Intangible Cultural Heritage in Austria under the name Sacrament Guards in Tyrol.
