Our mountain farm Oberhasenberghof at 1150 meters above sea level, 350 meters above the center of Taxenbach, has been run as a children\'s farm in Salzburg for over 30 years.
At the entrance to the Rauris Valley, in the middle of the Austrian Alps and with a sensational panoramic view over the Salzach Valley, the quiet and idyllic location of our farm offers ideal conditions for an unforgettable farm vacation in Taxenbach with the whole family.
Mother cow husbandry
We live with 4 generations on the farm and practice suckler cow husbandry, which means that our 6 or 7 cows get a calf once a year (autumn/winter) and live together with the bull (insemination takes place naturally) in a herd, in summer they are on the common pasture on the Taxberg and 2 or 3 cows with their calves and the bull graze on generous areas around our farm premises. Our cows are not milked, because the calf drinks the milk for 10 months with the mother cow. For this reason and due to a lot of exercise on pasture or alpine pasture the meat gains in quality and at about 10 months one or two calves are slaughtered for our own use and sale among acquaintances and the remaining calves are further bred in other farms. In the summer season there is hardly any stable work, because the goats, chickens and horses also have access to pasture and are only in the stable overnight.

That's what makes us happy and why our heart swells when both our small and large guests have fun and feel comfortable at Oberhasenberghof. A colorful world full of varied and exciting experiences awaits you at our children's farm, such as a large playground with 2 play towers, mud kitchen, a trampoline, children's vehicles & go-karts, a swimming pool & whirlpool and the indoor play barn with hay playground, table tennis, table soccer, air field hockey, billiards, ball pool for the smallest guests and store. A screen with video & DVD recorder is also at your disposal. And while mom and dad dream under the apple trees at the playground, the kids enjoy the life around our farm with all the play possibilities. The campfire site at the playground is also a popular meeting place for young & old. Rabbits & guinea pigs are happy about many strokes of the children. The rabbits like it best when the children join them and watch & stroke them (when lifting them up, the children are usually frightened by the animals' movements & claws).
Living on the Oberhasenberghof
Our total of 4 vacation apartments in Taxenbach are cozy and comfortably furnished with flat screen TV and free wifi and are located either in the farmhouse or in the new building, which is located right next to the farmhouse. Those who are looking for a cozy wooden chalet for their vacation should rent our small Heidihütte, which can accommodate 4 people. And also for those who want to spend their camping vacation in Taxenbach, we offer 15 pitches with about 100 m² each and a comfortable additional offer.
Summertime & winter fun
Our farm is centrally located in the Salzburger Land, about 1 hour by car to the Krimmler Waterfalls and 1 hour by car to the city of Salzburg.
The Salzburger Land Card is a great offer for active holidaymakers - once purchased and paid for online, with just one card you hold the entrance ticket to over 180 attractions throughout the SalzburgerLand. Whether lakes & pools, mountain railroads or museums - with so much to choose from, every day becomes a unique vacation experience.
In winter, there are several well-known ski areas in our area - Raurisertal, Dorfgastein-Großarltal ski area, Dienten-Hochkönig ski area, St. Johann-Alpendorf and Zell am See-Kaprun ski areas, as well as toboggan runs.
We invite you to spend your best time of the year on our Salzburg children's farm - because a family vacation on the Oberhasenberghof means joint activities with the children and lots of fun and exercise in the fresh air - but of course also relaxation to regain strength in the tranquility of our nature.

Apartment Morgensonne
2 Nights, 2 Adults
Our comfortably furnished vacation apartment "Morgensonne" is located on the 1st floor of our Salzburg Kinderbauernhof and offers 50 m² of space for up to 5 people (4 adults, 1 child/baby). Let the morning sun wake you up in this bright and friendly vacation apartment and enjoy the fantastic view from your own balcony.
Our vacation apartment in Taxenbach is divided and equipped as follows:
1 double room with morning sun (adjoining the kitchen/living room)
1 newly renovated double room with additional sofa bed, (+lattice bed possible), divided by the public corridor from the kitchen-living room (not ideal with small children!)

Apartment Sternenhimmel
2 Nights, 2 Adults
Cozy and bright presents our self-contained vacation apartment "Sternenhimmel" in Taxenbach, which is located on the 1st floor of our children's farm. On a total of 50 m², the comfortable vacation apartment offers space for up to 5 people (+ baby), whereby an additional sleeping place is available through a (sleeping) sofa in the kitchen-living room. In addition, the magnificent view from your own balcony will delight you every day anew!

Our vacation apartment "Salzburg" is located on the first floor of the new building, offers 45 m² of space for up to 5 people and has a wonderful terrace with a fantastic panoramic view for exclusive use - direct access available. Cozy and comfortably furnished, this apartment is the ideal retreat for your family vacation in Taxenbach.
If required, a twin room with flat screen TV and shower/WC can be booked in addition to the vacation apartment "Salzburg" - it is located on the same floor and is ideal when the children are already older or grandma and grandpa go on vacation with you.

Close to nature, completely independent and last but not least budget-conscious vacation - in short: a camping vacation in Salzburg Land on the children's farm Oberhasenberghof. Because more and more travel enthusiasts are opting for this type of vacation and enjoy experiencing a sense of adventure and freedom while camping. Outside of vacation periods, 60+ campers are also happy to enjoy the peace and quiet at Oberhasenberghof.
The nearest shopping facilities, a restaurant as well as an ATM are available 4 km from our farm (350 meters lower in altitude) in the center of Taxenbach. On bad weather days our indoor play barn with billiards, air field hockey, table soccer, table tennis, ball pool, cinema screen & hay playground, the heated whirlpool in the pavilion (included) or the Finnish sauna (for an extra charge) offers a pastime diversion.
Our campground is open from Ascension Day dJ, through mid-October dJ - 5/17/2023 through October 22, 2023 - and is closed during the winter months.
Advance reservations are essential in July & August!
Due to the one-lane approach, departure in the morning should be made by 11 am and arrival in the afternoon from 3 pm.
