The municipality of Loich is located in the upper Pielach Valley and can be reached in 35 minutes by Mariazell train or by car from St. Pölten.
Loich is the second smallest municipality of the Pielach Valley and is especially known for relaxing vacations due to the natural quiet area.
Recreational and shopping facilities are available in Loich and in the surrounding area.
Hikes lead to the Eisenstein, Hohenstein or around the Schnabelstein with magnificent views of the Ötscher. Cyclists and mountain bikers also feel at home. A ride with the famous Mariazellerbahn is worthwhile.
Particularly worth seeing are the parish church from 1784, the Kaiser Jubilee Fountain on the village square and the open-air museum and museum of local history. The museum with the Pichlmühle and the various exhibits is under the control of the Kultur- und Heimatverein.
The show garden of the "Fuchsien-Vroni", open from mid-July to mid-August, is worth a visit.
Pielachtal - our Dirndltal!
The trademark of the Pielachtal is the cornel cherry, also called "Dirndl". Many specialties are made from the Dirndl, such as Dirndl syrup, Dirndl jam, Dirndl brandy, Dirndl chocolate or Dirndl jewelry.
