Sankt Michael im Lungau (Lungau dialect: Michee) is a market town located at 1075 meters above sea level in the Lungau region of Salzburg and is the second largest community in the district with 3489 inhabitants. St. Michael is located in a valley at the foot of the mountain Speiereck. To the south is the Katschberg with the Katschbergpass and the mountain Aineck.
