Culture and sights

    Hopfgarten Parish Church

The Hopfgartner parish church ("Cathedral of the Brixen Valley"), which has been renovated in recent years, is considered an important cultural asset. The baroque, double-towered church, dedicated to St. Jacob and St. Leonhard, was built between 1758 and 1764 and is the landmark of Hopfgarten visible from afar due to its size, its architecture and its prominent position in the middle of the market. At the end of the restoration work, the new organ was purchased and inaugurated in September 1998. It was built by the company Metzler (Dietikon/CH). With 44 stops on three manuals and pedal, it is one of the most remarkable organs in Tyrol.
