Gemeinde Maria Alm
Maria Alm is a municipality of Pinzgau in the Austrian state of Salzburg and is located about five kilometers east of Saalfelden am Steinernen Meer.
Culture and sights
Maria Alm is home to the Maria Alm pilgrimage church, the Hinterthal parish church and the Gastegkapelle chapel. The oldest buildings include the Almerwirt from 1530, and the Vorderjetzbachgut from the 14th century with a brick house from 1560.
Customs
Every year on St. Bartholomew's Day, the Almer pilgrimage leads over the Steinerne Meer to St. Bartholomew at Königssee, along a pilgrimage path built with natural stone steps.
Sport
Farmer's Autumn 2014
The first swimming pool was built in 1933 next to the Waldhaus. In Maria Alm there is the ice shooting club; the Jakobiranggeln takes place annually at the Hundstein.
