Gmünd in Carinthia is a rural town in the Lieser Valley in Carinthia, named after the confluence of the Malta and Lieser rivers. Gmünd in Carinthia is located at the confluence of the Malta and Lieser rivers on an important north-south route across the Alps, which are now crossed by the Tauern Autobahn (A 10).
