Gemeinde Eberndorf

Eberndorf (slow. Dobrla vas) is a bilingual market town in the district of Völkermarkt in Carinthia (Austria). The municipality is located in the Jaun Valley in the Jaunfeld stretching south of the Drava River.

Culture and sights

    Parish and former collegiate church Maria Himmelfahrt
    Eberndorf Abbey was built in the first half of the 12th century. In 1446-1476 the monastery was provided with a rampart and secured by a moat. In 1723 the monastery fell victim to a major fire. It got its present shape in 1751.
