Egg am Faaker See

Egg am Faaker See (Slovenian Brdo ob Baškem jezeru) is a village and hamlet near Drobollach in the municipality of Villach in Carinthia, Austria. Egg is located on the northeastern shore of Lake Faak at the foot of Mount Tabor. The village also includes the southern village of Neuegg am Faaker See. Lake Faak is located south of Villach and the Drava River and north of the Mittagskogel Mountain, located in the Karawanken Mountains. Politically, Lake Faak belongs to the municipalities of Villach (with the villages of Drobollach am Faaker See and Egg am Faaker See to the north) and Finkenstein (with the village of Faak am See to the southwest).

Tourism

The villages around Lake Faak offer domiciles frequented mainly by individual tourists and a varied tourist infrastructure with hotels, guest houses, pensions, vacation apartments and camping sites. There are numerous restaurants and inns, cafes, pubs and wine taverns. A number of events take place, the most frequented event is the European Bike Week (formerly Harley meeting), which takes place in the first week of September. The days before the GTI meeting, the region around Lake Faak is fully booked.
