Culture and sights

Catholic parish church Hörbranz hl. Martin

Salvatororkolleg: Father Franziskus Maria vom Kreuze Jordan founded the order of the Salvatorians in 1893 as a Marian College. The Swiss architect August Hardegger built the main building of the Salvator College between 1896 and 1906 in the style of historicism. The campanile-like tower and the two corner risalites give the building a Mediterranean accent. The institution was used from 1896 to 1979 as a grammar school with a dormitory or boarding school and is now a church educational institution and meeting house. Since 1981, it has also housed the boarding school for students of the Landesberufsschule für das Gastgewerbe Lochau. During the First World War it was used as a military hospital, from 1938 to 1945 it was a barracks and finally a collective camp for prisoners of war.
