Mörtschach is a municipality in the district of Spittal an der Drau in Carinthia. The municipal area is located in the far west of Carinthia in the upper Mölltal. It is bordered in the west by the Schobergruppe, in the east by the Sadnig, a foothill of the Sonnblick massif.

Culture and sights

    The parish church of St. Leonhard in Mörtschach, which stands on a hill, was built in 1516 and is dedicated to St. Leonhard. Worth mentioning is the "Fleißner" Madonna, carved in 1931 by the sculptor Max Domenig.
    The pilgrimage church Maria Hilf in the village of Auen is a small church with a choir and a two-axis nave with a gable tower. It was built in 1806.
