Sankt Georgen am Längsee, officially St. Georgen am Längsee, is a municipality in the district of Sankt Veit an der Glan in Carinthia, Austria. Sankt Georgen is located in the northern Klagenfurt Basin between Krappfeld and Zollfeld.
Tourism
An important economic factor of the entire region is tourism. St. Georgen is a member of the associations "Region Mittelkärnten", "Norische Region" and "Hemmaland". All these three partnership associations have their headquarters in St. Georgen.
Lake Längsee with its very good water quality is the main attraction for bathers in summer. Around 50,000 guests stay overnight in the municipality each year, more than half of them in the months of July and August.
In the municipal area, an 18-hole golf course was built under the auspices of the neighboring municipality and district capital Sankt Veit an der Glan and started operation in 2008.
