Gemeinde Aurach bei Kitzbühel
Aurach bei Kitzbühel is a municipality with 1140 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2022) in the district of Kitzbühel, Tyrol (Austria). The municipality lies in the judicial district of Kitzbühel.Aurach is located about five kilometers south of Kitzbühel, in the Leukental valley in the middle of the Kitzbühel Alps, on the road to Pass Thurn. The settlement is divided into Unteraurach, Oberaurach and several scattered settlements and hamlets. Due to tourism in the catchment area of Kitzbühel, the original scattered settlements of Haberberg and Kochau have seen lively settlement activity. The villages are Haberberg, Haselwand, Kochau, Oberaurach, Sonnberg, Unteraurach and Wiesenegg-Grüntal. Historically significant is the now discontinued mining around the area of the Kelchalm.

A game park at 1100 meters above sea level on the hillside keeps animals of the Alps such as red deer, ibex, mouflon, wild boar and lynx, but also animals of non-European mountains such as fallow and sika deer, llama and yak.
